June Working Bee

The focus of this working bee was on the compost, since the bins have again started to require a lot of work and the big aerobin was bulging open.

Julia and a bunch of volunteers took care of redistributing the contents, fixing up the aerobin and also moving one of the bins from the back to the front. The idea is to leave the two at the back to cure for longer and not feed too much new green waste to them and have the front two for the public to use.

We used the contents of one one the bins to spread compost on bed 1 and 2 and again around the tree to try and improve the soil there.

The Malabar spinach was also starting to look said and we remove half of them to make room for spring planting.

We mostly did cleanup jobs around the garden bed and did not plant anything new, since we are going to plan out the next season in a few weeks and then mostly like rotate some of the crops.
