April Update

April was a quiet month with many members being away over the holidays.

It was also a month were the slugs and caterpilars went crazy and ate a lot of our newly sown plants.
But that is the cycle of life and we just have to plant more and more often.

The compost is going really well now that we have a regular group looking after it and the worm farms are healthy, good smelling and teaming with worms.

Julia is doing a great job making sure it is all going well and teaching other members how to look after both the compost and the worm farms.

We might even have our first harvestable compost very soon!

There is still garbage and plastic bags being dumped into the compost bins. So if you see them, please take them out. Even if the bag says biodegradable, our compost bins are too small do not produce enough heat to degrade them.

Please remove any garbage bags, if you see them
